Comparative Analysis of Daily Load Profiles of Multi-Apartment Residential Buildings

Analysis of Load Profiles was conducted using the example of multi-apartment residential buildings in Moscow. To develop typical profiles, a sample of 17 multi-apartment residential buildings in Moscow, equipped with electric stoves and ranging from 11 to 18 stories, was formed. December was considered as the month with the highest load during the year. Working days were analyzed as a separate group, while weekends were divided into two subgroups: Saturdays and Sundays. This division was made to determine whether there are significant differences between the load profiles. For each of the three groups., the profiles were initially averaged. The practical application of typical load profiles is possible in several scenarios. Firstly, during the design phase, for selecting transformer capacities considering their overload capabilities and energy sources (diesel generators, gas turbine installations, renewable energy sources, etc.). Secondly, in already operational multi-apartment residential buildings, to assess the potential number of additional connected electrical receivers (electric vehicle charging stations, energy storage systems, etc.) and energy sources, taking into account their operating duration depending on the time of day and day of the week. The load profiles underwent harmonic analysis, which is an important tool for effective power supply system management, allowing for improved reliability and quality of electricity by identifying the fundamental frequencies, amplitudes, and phases that influence the overall load behavior. The typical profiles adequately reflect the dynamics of load variation for a group of apartments at the multi-apartment residential building level over a 24-hour period compared to half-hour load profiles. It should be noted that the latter, in turn., represent an integral assessment of the load over half-hour measurement intervals.
