Model for Calculating the Thermohydraulic Parameters of a Heat Exchanger with Porous Inserts

The work has compiled a physical and mathematical model for calculating the thermohydraulic parameters of a heat exchanger with porous inserts using a cluster model, obtained criterion equations for calculating the heat transfer coefficient and hydraulic friction factors. The results of experimental and theoretical studies of the effectiveness of using porous aluminum inserts in the design of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger are given. The effectiveness of using porous aluminum inserts in the design of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger is demonstrated by experiments. A similarity equation is obtained for calculating Nusselt criterion, which allows one to find the heat transfer coefficient for the heat-transfer medium flowing through porous inserts in the inter-tube space of a heat exchanger. To calculate the heat exchange area from the heat-transfer medium flowing through the pores, a cluster model was used. Criterion equations for calculating hydraulic friction factors are proposed.
