Analysis of the Impact of UAV Collision on a Commercial Aircraft

The modern era requires rapid changes. One of these changes is the use of UAVs. Their use is widespread, but the problem of controlling their use is more than evident. During the past year alone, 50 air traffic incidents caused by UAVs were recorded on European soil, while the number of recorded incidents is much higher when considering the entire world. Taking these concerning figures into account, it becomes clear that UAVs represent a significant danger. The topic of this paper is primarily the impact of UAVs on commercial aircraft. The impact analysis was conducted based on real-world aircraft collisions, including an assessment of aircraft repair costs as well as the overall costs for airlines.
