Research on Improving Comprehensive Fire Protection Capabilities of Ultra High Voltage Substations

The main transformer of the Ultra High Voltage (UHV)substation has the characteristics of large oil storage capacity and high oil combustion value, which is one of the factors that exacerbate the fire hazard level and firefighting difficulty of ultra-high voltage substations. Therefore, improving the comprehensive fire protection capabilities of UHV substations is crucial for the safe operation of substations. This paper analyzes the firefighting capability assessment system of UHV substations from multiple dimensions, such as firefighting capability during operation, continuous combat capability, and ability to prevent fire spread. It also addresses the limitations and deficiencies of existing facilities, and proposes directions for improving fire protection capabilities, such as increasing firefighting medium capacity, enhancing surrounding social firefighting forces, improving firefighting duration, and rapidly discharging burning media. These improvements can significantly enhance the comprehensive fire protection capabilities of UHV substations, providing a basis and method for enhancing the fire protection capabilities and accident handling of UHV substations.
