Automated Fabric Width & Length Measurement using Proximity Sensor Grid In Textile Finishing using IIoT

Accurate measurement of fabric dimensions is essential for productivity and quality in the textile finishing industry. Traditional manual methods, such as measuring tapes, are often inaccurate and inefficient In order to measure the width and length in real time without interfering with production flow, this methodology introduces an automated grid-based measurement system that uses 10 proximity sensors spaced 5 cm apart. A microcontroller processes data to produce instantaneous readouts on a display interface, decreasing human error and increasing accuracy. Additionally, The system processes data and sends it to the Blynk IoT platform for remote monitoring. It is integrated with an ESP8266 WiFi module and an Arduino Mega, thereby allowing operators to oversee patterns, produce customizable reports, and obtain notifications for any deviations. This complete solution, which represents a significant breakthrough in textile finishing technology, drastically reduces labour costs while improving product quality, production efficiency, and operating costs.
