The Characters Interaction Design Framework of Preschool Children’s Educational Games

With the development of the times, educational games, as the tool distinct from traditional teaching methods, have gradually become a necessity for preschool families. Based on preschool children’s developmental characteristics, this paper integrates cognitive schema theory, observations of children’s spontaneous play and successful design cases. It argues that the core of educational game design lies in characters interaction design. A refined design framework is presented, and the viewpoint is validated through practice. The results show that the quality of character interaction design in educational games significantly impacts children’s acceptance. Positive character interaction enhances gameplay experience, promotes active learning, encourages repeated engagement, and effectively constructs their Zone of Proximal Development.
