Mobile EMP-System with High Flexibility

A mobile EMP-system was developed for the electro-magnetic-compatibility testing of electronic instruments. The system features a very high flexibility and is composed of small and light parts to facilitate transportation. Thanks to the very modular design it can be erected on-site in one day by one man. It is possible to get an uniform field strength of 50..400 kv/m (depending from the size of the antenna) in a volume of about 25..3 m³ with this system. The time dependance of the field within the antenna was calculated by a computer program. The developed program considers the dimensions of the antenna, the generating and the load circuit. Additionally the voltage on the terminating resistor was calculated.
