Computer Programs for Linear and Planar Arrays of Thin-Wire Dipoles

Two user-oriented computer programs for arrays of thin-wire dipoles are described. The first involves a large linear array of thin-wire dipoles parallel to a perfectly conducting ground plane. The second involves a planar array of thin-wire dipoles parallel to a perfectly conducting ground plane. Various Toeplitz properties are used in efficient algorithms. Linear arrays of over a thousand elements and planar arrays of several hundred elements may be treated. The computer programs permit (a) analysis of the linear array with deterministic excitation and (b) analysis of the planar array with random or deterministic excitation.
