Study on the Safety and Mechanical Test Method of Vehicle to Load(V2L) Adapter

Recently, the Electric Vehicle industry grows rapidly. So, many kinds of electric vehicle and chargers are being developed. Various use cases are being developed, too. Among them, the Vehicle to Load adapter is a kind of the power supply that converts DC battery power in EV into AC power using the discharge function of the electric vehicle so that external electric devices can be used. The Vehicle to Load adapter is a new convergence product because this is combined a electric vehicle connector and a typical socket-outlet. So, there is no safety and mechanical test method for the Vehicle to Load adapter. However, it is a device that uses dangerous high voltage, safety tests are essential. In this paper, the safety and mechanical test methods for the Vehicle to Load Adapter are suggested and some Vehicle to Load adapters are tested and reviewed by suggested method.
