Effect of Energy Efficiency and Conservation Towards Net-Zero

In India, the Energy Conservation Act 2001 was notified on 29^th September 2001 to incentivize the efficient use of energy and its conservation. Emphasis was placed on awareness within all the sections of society, prioritizing specific high energy-consuming sectors like industries, agriculture, municipals, buildings, and the domestic sector. These sectors are governed by programs and regulations like Perform Achieve & Trade, Agriculture Demand Side Management, Municipal Demand Side Management, Energy Conservation Building Code, and Star Labelling Programme, through Bureau of Energy Efficiency. A case study of Chhattisgarh State about the awareness creation has supported the implementation of energy efficiency measures, has been considered to evaluate journey of high energy-consuming sectors to become energy efficient, leading to achieve net zero utilizing Solar Energy. In two decades, energy consumption reduced by 2.7 million units through government initiatives resulting in avoided capacity of 1280MW in the industrial sector. Efficient Energy Transition will ease the journey to Net-Zero.
