Battery Status Monitoring Based on Advanced Ultrasonic Technology

Lithium-ion batteries are widely used in electronic devices, making accurate monitoring of their state of health (SOH) and state of charge (SOC) essential for many applications. Traditional methods, which rely on electrical properties and algorithms, have limitations in detecting early signs of instability and degradation. This paper presents an advanced ultrasonic method to assess SOC and the battery's physicochemical properties under various conditions, with a focus on performance in low-temperature environments. When the temperature decreased from room temperature to 5°C, the battery’s SOH declined by 12.8%. Additionally, as SOC decreased, the amplitude of the transmitted ultrasonic signal is weakened, correlating with changes in battery material properties during charge and discharge cycles.
