Towards Personalized Anti-Tachycardia Pacing: A Formal Analysis of Reentry Mechanisms and Adaptive Algorithm Development

This paper presents a novel approach to Anti-Tachycardia Pacing (ATP) through a formal analysis of reentry mechanisms and the development of an adaptive ATP algorithm. We begin by examining the electrophysiological properties of the heart, focusing on how reentry is induced and respond to pacing stimuli. Utilizing these insights, we introduce the AdaptiveATP algorithm, which outperforms traditional methods in simulations by achieving higher success rates, shorter completion times, and fewer required stimulations. Our approach highlights the potential for personalized arrhythmia treatment by incorporating parameter constraints derived from ECG or EP studies, paving the way for more precise and effective cardiac care.Clinical relevance— This study provides a formal analysis of reentry mechanisms and ATP, leading to the development of a more efficient ATP algorithm with improved success rates, requiring fewer pacing interventions and less time.
