Electromagnetic Characteristics of Common-Core Inductors for EMC Power Line Filters

The need of lossy magnetic materials For cores of chokes in EMC Filters is well recognized. The paper deals with experimental data obtained by measurment of samples of current compensated chokes of equal dimensions but different core material. According to the authors' investigation it has been found out that the use of laminated cores of permalloy' and especially amorphous alloy gives a very satisfactory solution for heavy current RF1/EMC filters up to 30 MHz.
