Link Aggregation Based De-Stacking Design and Simulation

With the rapid development of big data such as in-vehicle and airborne, edge devices face the challenge of processing and transmitting large amounts of data. While providing high bandwidth and high reliability, traditional switch stacking and MLAG technologies have problems such as high port resource overhead and no support for cross-vendor device heterogeneity, which are not applicable to edge devices with limited resources. In this paper, we propose a de-stacking scheme for edge devices, which reduces Peer-Link interactions between switches and lowers port overhead by replicating ARP messages on the NIC side so that ARP messages are sent from all ports within the aggregation group, and at the same time improves the stability of system operation. The experiment verifies the performance of ARP double-sending on the simulation platform by modifying the Linux kernel. The experimental results show that the scheme can successfully realize ARP double-issuing and improve the reliability and transmission capacity of the network.
