Design of Pipeline Crack Detection Robot

Pipe networks face leakages that can lead to injuries, financial loss, and sometimes real disasters. In case of a water pipeline leakage or any gas leakage, may lead to a drain of valuable resources. The nearly used methodology to survey pipelines internally is PIG (Pipeline Inspection Gadget) which executes tasks such as pipeline geometry inspection, leak detection, or any obstacle detection. Thus, they require large amounts of energy to move and may struggle to form a stable platform for the necessary sensors for inspection, so a non-destructive pipe leakage detecting robot is designed to detect the leaks with the help of ultrasonic sensors. Its six-wheel design ensures optimal movement within gas pipelines while integrating a LoRa module enables seamless control for forward and backward movements. This innovative approach enhances leak detection accuracy and reduces product loss due to cracks and leakages, significantly improving pipeline safety and maintenance protocols.
