Assessment of the Cybersecurity Efficiency of G20 Countries Using Data Envelopment Analysis

With the rapid advancement of digital transformation, cybersecurity has emerged as a strategic priority for nations worldwide. Ensuring the secure participation of individuals, businesses, and governments in digital environments requires robust cybersecurity measures. However, measuring cybersecurity poses significant challenges due to the complexity of the issue and the limited availability of reliable data. This study addresses these challenges by employing Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to assess and rank the cybersecurity performance of G20 countries, utilizing existing cybersecurity indices such as the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) and the National Cyber Security Index (NCSI). The results indicate that Indonesia, France, India, and Japan exhibit efficient cybersecurity performance, while Mexico demonstrates the weakest performance among the G20 nations. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders to develop strategies aimed at enhancing national cybersecurity capabilities.
