Recent Developments in European EMC Standards and Regulations

A review is given of developments during the last few years with respect to European EMC standards issued by the European Standardization Organization CENELEC and EEC legislation relating to these standards. After an explanation of the functioning of CENELEC, a survey is given of the EMC standards adopted and the resulting consequences for the national standards of the CENELEC member states. The recent EEC Directive on EMC is discussed, as well as its consequences for the EEC member states, EFTA countries and manufacturers of equipment which is subject to this Directive.
