Designing for Electrostatic Discharge Immunity

This paper analyzes how Electronic Systems can be designed to be immune to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) in a cost effective manner. These four major design areas are examined; Grounding, Circuit Board Design, Cable and Harness Design, and the Mechanical Enclosure (Covers). This paper will show how these immunity control techniques are applied to the systems containing the latest processor designs.
