Enhancing Cybersecurity Awareness in Medical IoT through Gamification with a Card Game Approach

This paper presents a learning tool designed to create cybersecurity awareness across various disciplines beyond traditional computer science and software engineering. A card game centered on cyber-attacks and defenses was introduced to a biomedical engineering class focused on innovation in the Internet of Things (IoT) and digital health. Students engaged in identifying potential attacks and defenses, followed by gameplay and discussion sessions where instructors acted as judges to assess outcomes. The paper details the gameplay and insights gained, highlighting the potential for future iterations and the game's relevance in expanding cybersecurity awareness in diverse engineering domains beyond the conventional scope.
