Cyber Security for Power System

The research focuses on historical attacks, the attack surface and mitigation strategies in order to solve cyber security concerns for SCADA systems in power systems. In order to mitigate risks such as Man In The Middle (MITM), Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF), and Cross Site Scripting (XSS), it looks into the effects of cyber attacks and suggests a Cyber Security Management System (CSMS). It also examines the vulnerabilities—specifically, data spoofing—introduced by Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in Smart Grids. Using Cisco Packet Tracer, the project replicates AMI networks and applies the RC4 Spritz encryption method to guarantee data availability, confidentiality, and integrity. The paper shows how effective the RC4 Spritz encryption technique is against potential cyber-attacks by using tools like Wireshark and Kali Linux. The result will be a report that provides guidance to power system operators on how to protect the security, dependability, and safety of their systems.
