Enhance Electrical Power Generation and Storage Using Arduino Board for a Standalone System

This paper proposes a low-cost solution using an Arduino Uno development board to control an autonomous photovoltaic system that powers a DC motor combined with a lithium-ion battery storage system. An intelligent algorithm based on the Kalman filter is applied to a solar panel generating a maximum power of 218 W, ensuring optimal power extraction through a boost converter. The system supplies a 150 W DC motor, and to maintain continuous operation of the load, the storage system is managed by a Sepic/Zeta converter within a closed-loop control system using a PID controller. The simulation results obtained from Proteus software are promising, demonstrating the system's ability to perfectly extract the generated power while maintaining consistent motor performance under varying irradiation conditions. This stability is achieved through the storage battery, which compensates for energy shortfalls and stores excess energy, thereby ensuring optimal energy efficiency.
