Analytical study on fibre optic temperature measurement of 110kV power cable based on electromagnetic-thermal coupling

Distributed fibre optic temperature measurement systems are widely used in power cable temperature monitoring due to the advantages of strong resistance to electromagnetic interference and high measurement accuracy. However, conventional optical fibre temperature measurement systems usually attach the optical fibre directly to the surface layer of the cable, which has problems such as untimely measurement and easy damage. Based on this, this paper proposes that the optical fiber is embedded in the cable, builds a three-dimensional simulation model of 110kV power cables, carries out electromagnetic-thermal coupling multi-physical field simulation and calculation, and obtains the distribution of temperature field of cables with different ambient temperatures and different load currents, and analyzes and obtains the optimal temperature measurement point of optical fiber sensors along the cable in the direction of the radius of 0.036 m, and provides the best temperature measurement point for the distributed fiber optic temperature measurement system. The study provides an effective reference basis for online monitoring of power cable working status.
