Learning Management of Islamic Religious Education Based on Digital Technology

The research in this study posits that the management of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, when integrated with digital technology, must align with Islamic values; religious education should not rely solely on digital technology, as teachers play a vital role in serving as role models. This study aims to analyze the management practices for integrating digital technology into PAI instruction. The findings reveal that character-based PAI learning incorporating digital technology meets four critical elements: (1) digital teaching modules and a Learning Management System (LMS), (2) digital technology-based learning infrastructure, (3) teacher training, and (4) mentoring to guide student character development. This research employs a qualitative, descriptive-analytical method with a phenomenological approach, focusing on lived experiences of teachers and students within the PAI context. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews with educators, observations of classroom practices, and document analysis of digital learning materials and LMS usage. The collected data are then coded and thematically analyzed to identify patterns in the adaptation of digital tools while maintaining core Islamic educational values. Primary data were collected directly from the Islamic Development Network (IDN) in Bogor, providing a practical case for examining digital integration in PAI.
