Simulation Analysis of Transformer Vibration and Noise Based on Finite Element Method

In order to obtain the frequency distribution characteristics of the vibration and noise generated by the transformer during operation. This paper uses the finite element simulation software COMSOL to construct a three-dimensional model for simulating a transformer. By solving the coupling of the electro-magnetic field, structural force field, and sound pressure field, the vibration acceleration on the surface of the transformer core under no-load operation is obtained. Subsequently, the obtained results are used as the excitation source for the sound field, and the distribution of the sound field caused by the magnetostrictive vibration of the core is calculated. The simulation results show that among the stresses at each point of the transformer core, the highest frequency content is 100 Hz, followed by 300 Hz, and 200 Hz, so the harmonic response analysis of the sound field is for 100,200, and 300 Hz, and obtains the positive surface sound pressure distribution of the transformer tank. Finally, the simulation data is compared with the measured data, and the rules presented by the two are consistent, which verifies the effectiveness of the simulation model.
