The Development of a Field Service Management Information System to Help Companies Manage Field Workers: Proposed Prototype

Proper field service management (FSM) is critical for businesses with many field personnel to enhance operational efficiency. While FSM systems have improved operational efficiency, existing solutions often lack real-time data integration and advanced analytics capabilities. This research proposes a novel FSM prototype leveraging digital twin technology to address these limitations. The prototype integrates IoT sensors, real-time data analytics, and 3D visualization to create a virtual replica of field operations. However, controlling these personnel's field operations is dynamic and requires real-time data, making it difficult to manage effectively. The goal is to develop a user-friendly and efficient FSM software that uses digital twins for real-time monitoring, tracking, and optimizing field operations. This research employs the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, which is particularly suitable for developing prototypes. The prototype FSM enhances field worker management by offering a comprehensive picture of operations, maintenance planning, and real-time data analytics. This research contributes to the growing body of work on digital twin applications in service management.
