An improved oscillator based adaptive notch filter algorithm for noisy sinusoids

Accurate frequency estimation is crucial in various technological domains, including telecommunications, power systems, and biomedical engineering. Traditional methods often struggle in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and impulsive noise environments. This paper proposes an improved Oscillator-Based Adaptive Notch Filter (OSC-ANF) algorithm that integrates the exponential error scaling of the Maximum Correntropy Criterion (MCC) into the Noise Robust OSC-ANF (NR-OSC-ANF) framework. This integration leverages the robustness of NR-OSC-ANF in low SNR settings and enhances resistance to impulsive noise. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms traditional OSC-ANF and MCC-OSC-ANF algorithms in both low SNR and impulsive noise conditions.
