Virtual Radiophysics Laboratory

The article considers the development of a digital educational platform for doing laboratory works remotely. The platform has been aimed at creating virtual radiophysics laboratory for studying electrodynamic characteristics of microwave devices. The laboratory developed enables the implementation of computer models of modern measuring instruments and devices of microwave and EHF ranges. The computer interface of these models is fully analogous to the interface of real devices and, apart from studying physical processes, it allows the user to gain primary skills in making measurements, similar to those when operating real equipment. The virtual laboratory includes models of modern microwave devices under study. The structure of the laboratory is easily expandable, and adding new devices and measuring instruments does not require software revision. The laboratory features the remote connection and performance of laboratory works. The created software can be used in the educational process when doing special laboratory works on the study of microwave devices as an interactive teaching aid. Due to the remote access, the laboratory can be available to a large number of students and teachers, which provides a new approach to studying engineering and natural sciences taking into account the possibility of doing laboratory works remotely within digital educational environment. The article also provides the information on the practical application of a virtual radiophysics laboratory in the educational process.
