System for Measuring the Transverse Flatness of the Roadway

Technical means of transverse roughness determination and mathematical methods for processing measurement results are analyzed. The functional capabilities of the transverse roughness measurement system developed by the authors are described, which is a hardware-software complex for measuring the cross flatness of the roadway using laser scanning technology, as well as specialized software that collects, stores, and processes the scanning results in real time. The advantages of the mobile laser scanning technology, the scheme of the hardware-software complex of transverse flatness measurement, and its advantages are given. An example of processing the results of transverse roughness measurement using the specialized software developed by the authors is given.
