Algorithm for the Quantitative Assessment of Customer Economic Impacts of Voltage Dips and Interruptions

This paper proposes simple generic algorithms that can be used to calculate the economic impacts of interruptions and voltage dips on customers. The proposed methodology is easy to apply and requires little data. The algorithm uses sag and financial data that are well researched and generally readily available in most modern electricity networks. The results allow network service providers, regulators and customers to make an estimate of the customer costs of voltage dips at an individual site or across an entire network. This outcomes presented in this paper may be applied to undertake cost-benefit analysis for voltage dip and interruption remediation works that may be proposed by networks owners or required by regulators.
