Prospect of SF6 Gas Recovery and Reuse Technology for Power Equipment

Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), a potent non-CO2greenhouse gas, is extensively used in the power industry due to its excellent insulating properties. However, SF6's Global Warming Potential (GWP) is 23,500 times that of CO2, and it has an atmospheric lifetime of 3,200 years, making its environmental impact significant and long-lasting and presenting a critical challenge for emission control. In order to curb the direct emission of SF6, protect the environment, and realize the resource utilization of SF6waste gas, many researches are carrying out SF6emission control, ensuring the safe operation of electrical equipment, and saving the operation and maintenance cost of power grid. In this paper, SF6gas recovery technology, used SF6gas purification technology and resource utilization of F-containing waste gas are introduced in detail.
