Research on Modeling Method for Thermal Path of Triple-core Optical Fiber Composite Cables in Smart Energy Grid

Building a smart grid is to accelerate the integration of the four networks on the existing grid technology and infrastructure, and fully utilize the advantages of the power communication network to enhance the level of intelligence. Optical Fiber Composite Low-Voltage Cable (OPLC) is a composite cable that combines optical fiber and low-voltage cable, and has dual transmission functions of power and optical communication. The sharp increase in the temperature of the fiber-optic composite cable jeopardizes the safety of the cable, causing accidents and serious consequences. Therefore, accurately grasping the temperature of the cable is extremely important for the safe operation of the cable. The cable conductor temperature can be measured by indirect measurement method. By measuring the surface temperature of the cable and combining the thermodynamic theory, the temperature at different positions inside the cable can be estimated. The method is convenient and operability is strong. In this paper, the internal structure of OPLC is analyzed, and the transient thermal path model of triple-core OPLC is proposed. Then the particle swarm algorithm is used to identify the parameters of the thermal path model, reduce the error and improve the accuracy of calculation. Finally, through COMSOL Multiphysics simulation analysis. Comparing the simulation data with the calculated data, the error is within the allowable range, thus proving the accuracy of the triple-core OPLC transient thermal path model.
