Advancing Automotive Connectivity: A Proposal For Comprehensive IoT Infrastructure Framework

In this paper, we have studied the IoT infrastructure framework and design patterns from major cloud service providers such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and IBM to come up with a proposal which is suitable for automotive IoT systems. Based on the study of IoT infrastructure components provided by Cloud service providers and their purpose, we understood how each of them addresses scalability, security, efficiency, and cost. We prepared a master list of components, created a matrix of requirement for automotive IoT systems and performed architecture level interface check for IoT applications. As per the study, we identified the components required for an automotive IoT infrastructure framework. We have also shown how the proposed architecture can be integrated with applications such as Smart home Voice Assistant, Fleet management, Vehicle to Grid, Shared mobility management.
