Smart Cow Care: IoT-Driven Automatic Feeding and Temperature Control

Housing must give access to food, water, and protection from relevant environmental conditions. Temperature extremes are a challenge for cow housing. Heat stress in cattle can reduce fertility and milk output. Giving shade is a frequent approach for minimizing heat stress. Heat stress in cattle can reduce fertility and milk output. Giving shade is a frequent approach for minimizing heat stress. Barn architecture may also include fans or tunnel ventilation. Many automatic feeders have been offered on the market throughout the years, but none of them can solve several difficulties such as high temperature and feed control. The goal of this project is to leverage the internet of things to solve the challenges produced by present feeders and to design an efficient autonomous feeder. This automatic feeder is controlled by a micro controller and has an interface with a DC motor, relays and motor drivers. To conduct actions like as spinning motors and switching relays on and off, software code is loaded into the micro controller. Using blynk software, a mobile phone controls the feeding system[8]. The user can able to control the water intake of the cow through blynk app. When the temperature of the barn is above the predetermined level, the fan will be turned on automatically and it will reduce the temperature. While the user is away from the location, he may still feed the cows on time and can control the temperature of the barn.
