Frame Acquisition Scheme for Optical-wireless Modified MPPM

The modified multi-pulse pulse position modulation (MMPPM) is the method in which the first two slots of an N-slot frame are represented by binary pulse position modulation (BPPM) signals and the back N-2 slots by multi-pulse position modulation (MPPM) signals. In this paper, a scheme for synchronous acquisition using BPPM signals of several modified MPPM is proposed. The time required for restoring processing for restoring an frame time to a normal position, denoted acquisition time, is evaluated by theoretical formulas. Consequently, this scheme can improve the frame acquisition time.
