Testing of the Overhead Power Transmission Lines Fault Detection Using Non-Contact Sensing System

Noise filtering is very important when working with various sensors. The signal received from a set of sensors always contains noise that needs to be filtered out. Noise filtering reduces uncertainty and improves sensor measuring quality. The advantages of wireless magnetic and electric field sensors are particularly demanded in different problems of the power industry. Such qualities of measuring systems as passive measurement, its subsidization and electromagnetic compatibility are most required. One of the most important tasks of the power industry is the creation and modernization of measuring devices. Especially, concerning such physical quantities as magnetic and electric fields. The use of sensors that measure magnetic field parameters allows to analyze errors and emergency situations before their consequences can manifest themselves. This paper discusses the issues of processing and filtering the initial data of wireless magnetic and electric field sensors. It also presents the results of testing a contactless system to remotely determine the current parameters of the power grid.
