Unusual Microwave Properties of Polyurethane Composite Films Filled with Carbon Mesomaterials

This work presents the preparation of thin composite films using polyurethane (PUR) as the base material and carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as fillers. The radio-absorbing properties of the resulting films in the X-band were investigated. The microwave studies indicate that the thin film composites based on PUR with CNTs exhibit improved reflection and absorption of electromagnetic (EM) waves, while those with CNPs show reduced reflection and absorption of EM waves.
