Enhancing Security of WordPress Websites built on Virtual Machine Using Cloud Computing Technology

Virtualization is important in cloud computing and it gained popularity with the founding of VMWare. Storage devices, servers, network resources, and other physical units can all be virtualized with the application of virtualization technologies. This study aims Enhancing Security of WordPress Website built on Virtual Machine using Cloud Computing Technology. Nowadays, WordPress has emerged as one of the most widely used content management systems (CMS) globally. There are various possible risks to be mindful of when managing a WordPress website. This research investigates the integration of cloud computing technology and virtual machines (VMs) in improving the security of WordPress environments, particularly in investigating web-based exploits. By deploying WordPress on a cloud-hosted VM, this study enables an isolated, scalable environment for analyzing vulnerabilities. This system includes the use of several methods such as Virtual Machine Setup in Cloud Environment, Network Traffic Analysis (Cisco Firepower Device), Web Application Security (F5 Device), Penetration Testing Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) Zed Attack Proxy (ZAP) and jmeter, Automated Security Updates (plugins, Themes) and Regular Backup and Recovery (HPE backup server). These methods outline a systematic approach for investigating web exploits and enhancing the security of a WordPress website hosted on a virtual machine. And the findings of this research suggest that cloud-based VMs can serve as a crucial element in future WordPress security frameworks, offering enhanced flexibility, resilience, and investigative capabilities against emerging web exploits.
