Research on Application of Prefabricated Optical Cable Connector in Smart Substation

The universal interchange of prefabricated optical cable connectors is of great significance for the modular construction of smart substation, but there is no unified standard before, and there are great limitations in the scale application of engineering. This article summarizes the characteristics of existing optical cable connectors, through the performance analysis and quantitative evaluation of optical cable connectors, it is proposed that the optical cable connectors using MT contact parts, built-in mounting parts and standard housing parts have the best cost performance in power applications. In this paper, the standardization scheme of J599-MT optical cable connector is described. The optical cable connector produced according to this has good general interchangeable performance, and fully meets the requirements of modular construction and operation and maintenance of substation.
