Manufacture of Digitally Calculated Synthetic Holograms Using Optical Microlithography

The holography industry relies fundamentally on the manufacturing of holographic originations with various visual and security effects, which are later replicated in a wide range of everyday products. However, most commercially available holographic effects are only —holographic stereograms”, which provide images that offer a limited sense of depth. This work develops and implements a method for fabricating true computer-generated holograms that display real depth. The computation of the field recorded on the hologram is achieved by interpreting a virtual object as a series of light point sources or apertures, and solving the pertinent diffraction integrals. The recording of the computational results on a physical medium is accomplished through optical microlithography, using the Firefly® technologies developed by Colombian Imaging Technologies S.A.S.
