Design and Implementation of Fly-back Converter

The fly back converter (FBC) is a popular choice for low-power applications such as Televisions, Standby supply of power for computers, Mobile device chargers, unmanned aerial vehicles, Lighting system due to its performance, low cost and high efficacy. Fly back Converter with Step down ratio of 10:1 are adopted in SMPS, CRT displays of television and computer monitors. In this paper a converter of 10:1 ratio is implemented and validated through simulation using Multisim. The prototype of the fly-back converter is fabricated using the design values and tested. The prototype behaves as expected and simulated using the software. The results are validated experimentally with the simulated results. The designed procedure and implementation on Multisim software along with the results are presented. The experimental validation results are presented to substantiate the design.
