Analysis of Three-Phase Grid Synchronization Algorithms Performance Under Harmonic Pollution to Grid Voltage

The goal of this research is to assess the effectiveness of three-phase PLL algorithms when exposed to harmonic pollution in the grid voltage. Grid synchronization is a crucial aspect that needs to be done to overcome imperfections in a grid to ensure that the electricity has an optimal power quality and the operations remain efficient and seamless. Three PLL algorithms such as SRF-PLL, DSOGI-PLL, and DDSRFPLL are evaluated by involving third-order harmonics injection in the grid voltage. The results analysis will provide an understanding of the responses of each PLL algorithm in overcoming distorted grid voltage conditions. The results from simulations conducted with Matlab/Simulink are used to support the analysis that is provided. Based on the simulation results, DSOGI-PLL has the best output performance by estimating accurate phase angles and minimum oscillations under distorted grid voltage conditions.
