Dialogues On Renewable Energies: Impacts Of University

The “Dialogues on Renewable Energies” extension project at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia plays a crucial role in disseminating knowledge about renewable energies, adopting online and hybrid formats to democratize access to technical and scientific knowledge. This project was carried out in the 2021, 2022 and 2023 editions, always in the second half of the year, with a program made up of lectures, exhibitions, mini-courses, technical visits, round tables and debates on renewable energy issues, totaling 29 activities/events spread over the three years of the project, which had a registered audience of 1503 people. Thus, each activity invited specialists, scientists and professionals working in the energy market in order to contribute to the academic training of UFRB students as well as informing/stimulating the relevance of the topic to the entire external community at local and national level. With more than 3,000 unique views on its YouTube channel and initiatives such as the “Minicurso de Eléctrica Predial” to train women, the project promotes inclusion and gender equality in the sector. In addition, by ensuring accessibility for people with hearing and/or visual impairments, the project demonstrates a real commitment to inclusion. The comprehensive evaluations at the end of each edition revealed a significant uptake by the community, both academic and external, highlighting the growing interest in the topic of renewable energies and the positive impact on promoting critical thinking and research. The effective integration of the pillars of research, extension and teaching demonstrates the importance of the university as a transforming agent in the dissemination of scientific knowledge and in fostering interest in research, both inside and outside the academic environment.
