Vision impairment significantly hinders mobility and independence for visually impaired individuals. This project, titled "Bridging the Perception Gap," proposes a portable object detection system to enhance their spatial awareness and navigation. The system leverages a YOLOv8 deep learning model for real-time object detection on a Raspberry Pi platform. This user-friendly and portable solution aims to bridge the gap between visual perception and spatial awareness, empowering visually impaired individuals to navigate their surroundings with greater confidence and independence.
