Design and Development of IoT based Agricultural vehicle for Crop and Weed Management

This paper presents the development and implementation of IoT-enabled unmanned vehicle system that enables seam-less user-vehicle interaction, real time monitoring and control. Emphasizing novel control mechanisms, the vehicle employs Raspberry Pi as a central control framework. The Raspberry Pi controls and uses DC motors, pi camera, a pump, a robotic arm and seeding modules to control vehicle movement, monitor crops, remove weeds, and perform various required applications all of which responds accordingly to the user. The prototype is successful in providing field visuals, removing weed plants and other required activities. Further research is underway to explore additional system functionalities and optimizing user interface, underscoring the vehicle’s expansive scope and its evolving contributions to the agriculture field. It’s a great step towards the future, where smart technology plays a key role in meeting the global food demand while preserving the environment.
