Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Control of HVAC System in Electric Vehicles

The rise in the popularity of vehicles has led to the need for dependable heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in vehicle to ensure that passengers are comfortable and that the vehicles perform well. HVAC systems ensure passenger comfort, manage energy usage, and maximise vehicle range. A promising approach called Type 2 Fuzzy Logic Control (T2- FLC) is introduced to enhance HVAC system performance by controlling temperature and air distribution. Implementing T2-FLC involves system architecture, fuzzy inference mechanisms, membership functions and rule-based design. Additionally, T2- FLC has been explored for its ability to handle uncertainty and imprecision better than Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) in HVAC systems. T2-FLC helps regulate HVAC parameters like temperature, humidity and air quality while focusing on energy efficiency and passenger comfort. This advancement in HVAC control strategies is particularly beneficial, for vehicles.
