Nonlinear Control of Soft Switching Technique based DC Converters for Electric Vehicles

This research paper is focused on the development of a soft switching technique based non-linear sliding mode controller (SMC) and hysteresis controller in DC buck converters to improve their performance metrics, including rise time, settling time, and delay time. The findings show that the non-linear strategy is more effective in achieving a rapid system response. The soft switching scheme developed using zero voltage switching at the converter's input, reduces the overshoot voltage in the output of the converter circuit. In electric vehicles fast working buck converter circuits ensures reliable and efficient operation improving the overall performance of electrified transportation systems.
