Empowering Sustainable Power Systems: Regression-Based Analysis of Building Energy Efficiency

Energy conservation is the process of limiting the quantity of energy utilised for sustainable power systems, which can be accomplished by employing efficient energy. Additionally, with the daily need for energy growing, energy conservation has become a major issue in today’s world. Therefore, it is imperative that buildings manage their energy consumption more effectively and prominently. The heating load (HL) and cooling load (CL) of a building are counted as a major portion of loads in structures, just as in an HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system. Therefore, it is crucial to estimate these loads of a building accurately. In this work, this analysis is performed using XGBoost gradient descent and regularisation techniques to refine predictions and prevent over-fitting for better sustainability. Moreover, SHAP interaction values depicted about the features having an impact-ful predictions relative to average values when compared with existing works.
