A Low Offset Ping-Pong Hysteresis Comparator for Magnetic Sensors

This paper introduces a low offset ping-pong hysteresis comparator, designed for magnetic position and speed sensors, that features hysteresis programming between 5 and 100 mV, while drawing between 250 and 430 μA current from a 2.5 V supply. The silicon-verified design yields an input-referred offset standard deviation of 15.5 μV and a 26 μV mean, along with an overall delay of 260 ns. The paper also outlines a practical approach to determine the noise PSD of the auto-zero preamplifier by combining simulation results with MATLAB.
