Rotary Axis Calibration Method Based on Marker

Line laser rotary scanning reconstruction is a popular 3D reconstruction method. The camera and laser are mounted on a rotating arm, and the camera acquires the laser line information while the laser line sweeps over the object surface, stitching each frame of the point cloud obtained during the rotation process into a complete 3D model. The positional relationship between the camera and the rotation axis is unknown during the process, and calibration is required to obtain the transformation relationship between the two devices. This paper proposes a new method to calibrate the relationship between the camera and the rotation axis using man-made Markers, which ensures that the 3D point cloud data obtained by the camera can be transformed into the rotation axis coordinate system with high precision and accuracy. The calibration results of this method are applied to a laser line rotation scanning system, and good reconstruction results are achieved.
