A Data-aided Feedforward Carrier Synchronization Method for Burst Communication System

A data-aided feedforward carrier synchronization, suitable use in burst communication system with high rate-of-change of Doppler is described. Based on two kinds of pilot structure, the algorithm is divide into an open-loop differential frequency estimator and a pseudo-closed-loop feedforward carrier tracker. Through the combination of the frequency estimator and the carrier tracker, the algorithm shows a high precision with high rate-of-change of carrier frequency deviation. Simulation results show that the demodulation loss of the algorithm is less than 0.2dB in burst communication system.
